Bird’s Eye: Maps are the way we make sense of the territory, reducing it to an abstraction that helps us to navigate through it. Probably all readers use Google maps, but did you know there are plugins available that allow you to do things like measure the distance you’ve gone on a circular trip? (We didn’t until this week.) Other new maps are one of the Israeli settlements in Palestine’s occupied territories, of air pollution levels world wide, and a charming and delightful map of the online communities who live in the internet. (Tikkunista is the second star to the right and straight on till morning.)
* Map of the Settlements Peace Now
Welcome to the Americans for Peace Now map. You can use this map to explore the data we have collected about settlement activity in the West Bank. The map is organized in several layers that show different kinds of data. In the Layer Selector, you can click on the headings to view different areas of the map with pre-selected sets of layers. Or, you can turn on or off individual layers to customize your view.
